CONCEPT DESIGN OF THE MUSIC PALAZZETTO AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH, in partnership with: P.N.R.A. (National Antarctic Research Programme)
The “Atlantis Module” had to have a great emotional impact, to represent the transition to the third millennium. In order not to produce environmental changes, foundations were designed on a complex system that at the same time allowed it to adapt to the site and resist wind stress. The “module” was designed to host on three levels, a research community for 22 people able to live and work in full self-sufficiency, up to 225 people for international study sessions or special events. Extreme environmental conditions placed a severe restriction on the design, such as wind and extremely low temperatures.
